Three to twenty-one years of age

Eligibility:
Referrals for these services are based on observations, assessment
and physicians orders for therapy.
A child’s eligibility will reveal the following:
1. Motor difficulties that interfere with access to the school
environment or school activities.
2. Motor difficulties that impact the student’s ability
to be independent and demonstrate care in the school and home
environment.
3.Motor difficulties that prevent the child from making appropriate
progress in academic instruction.
Program Goals:
Therapy services are provided:
1.To aid the child in making progress within the educational
environment and must be educationally relevant.
2. To establish a foundation for skilled tasks such as handwriting,
cutting, and buttoning and are best addressed as part of the
classroom lesson or curriculum.
3. To remediate areas of motor planning, sensory integration,
perceptual motor skills and muscle tone strength and coordination.
4. To assist the regular and special education teachers on
implementation of classroom programs so that motor skills
may become incorporated into the daily classroom setting.
5. To allow participation in activities, utilize equipment
and positioning to improve the functional performance of students.
6. To advise staff and students on safety considerations
regarding the child with disabilities.
