HELP FOR WEBMAIL USERS - FOR HELP CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD, CLICK HERE

EFFECTIVE 8/15/2004, KCSEC.org services have been moved to a new web hosting and email hosting arrangement. Depending on your Internet Service Provider, this change will take place for YOU between 8/15 and 8/18. This means you will have to make some changes. If you need help, contact Mark at the KCSEC offices at (630) 553-5833 or email to tech@kcsec.org. Here are the details of what you may need to change. If you are comfortable making these changes on your own, you can go ahead and do so.

  • For Entourage or Outlook users, you will need to change your POP server to mail.kcsec.org
  • For Entourage or Outlook users, you will need to change your SMTP server to mail.kcsec.org
  • For Entourage or Outlook users, your login will need to be in the format of "emailid@kcsec.org" and your password will be changed back to the default setting (contact Mark if you do not remember what that was)
  • If you need to force your internet service provider to recognize the new address, you can do so by changing your network adapter DNS settings. Contact Mark to get the new DNS addresses. Do not attempt to do this on your own.
  • If you need to access your OLD email, you can do so by clicking on the "OLD KCSEC WEBMAIL" link on the left side of this page.
  • See below for details on how to access your webmail.

NOTE FOR AOL USERS: The AOL Web Browser may not allow you to check your KCSEC email. If you are using AOL, go online, and then start a separate MS Internet Explorer or Safari browser window and go to www.kcsec.org and check your email directly from Internet Explorer using the link above.

To check your email online using an internet browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, or AOL, you will need to know your email login and password. Your email login will be the same as your email address. For example, jcool@kcsec.org would log in using jcool@kcsec.org as the login, and would enter the appropriate password.When you click on the "Check E-Mail" link on the left side of the www.kcsec.org website, you will be presented with the login window.

Once you have entered your login and password, click on the "Login" button, and you will be presented with the email inbox window. Click on a message to read it. The rest should be fairly self explanatory.

You might be asking yourself "Ok, so we have new WEBMAIL? What do I do now?"

Well, first you need to know your new login and password. Your login SHOULD be the same as your old login. We attempted to replicate the logins exactly. Your password will be set back to the original default password. For security purposes, we do not want to publish that here. Instead, if you do not remember the password, contact Mark at the Co-op offices at (630) 553-5833.

Next, open a web browser (Internet Explorer or Safari) and open www.kcsec.org. Look at the top of the page, and you will see a link that says "Check Email". Click on this link, and log in.
