We are asking all staff members to wear your favorite “team” apparel to Opening Day. If you wear your favorite team’s jersey or t-shirt you will be receiving a raffle ticket. We will be raffling some fun items during the course of the morning.

Beginning of the year information will be posted on the KCSEC website this week. This year our MANDATORY Opening Institute Day is Wednesday, August 17th at Yorkville Middle School. Our day will have a prompt 8:00am start. This will be the FIRST WORK DAY for all central staff members, which is different from past years. If you log into the KCSEC website, you will have access to your staff calendar.

If you are a NEW staff member to KCSEC information regarding New Staff Orientation is also posted on our website. New Staff Orientation begins on Monday, August 15th.

We had positive feedback last year about the format for Opening Day and this year will be similar to last. We will have a half day meeting at YMS, lunch on your own with your colleagues, and have time in your buildings in the afternoon with your classroom teams. Just a reminder, we will not be serving breakfast. Central Staff will be breaking for lunch on your own at approximately 11:30 am. Paraprofessionals and
SEAKC members will have a meeting at the conclusion of our morning from approximately 11:45 until 12:45, prior to your lunch break. There will be a snack provided by our Teacher’s Association, SEAKC, during this time. Thank you SEAKC! Paraprofessionals and SEAKC members will be breaking for lunch at approximately 12:45 pm. After lunch, everyone will be expected to report to your buildings to work with your classroom teams for the remainder of the day until 4 pm.
